Text from Photos

A passage from the book you’re reading, a poster glimpsed on a walk, a handwritten note on a café table — moments worth keeping that don’t always arrive as your own words. Snap a photo, open it, and tap “Recognize.” The text drops straight into your memo. Japanese, English, and Dutch are supported. There’s a vertical mode for tategaki for Japanese novels, poetry collections, and traditional signs.

A Closer Look at Your Photos

Photos in the full screen view now pinch and pan the way they do in the iOS Photos app. Useful for reading the small print on a page you snapped, or finding the detail in a landscape shot. Works in the memo list, the map pin gallery, and the post-capture preview.
